Louisville!

After beginning yesterday at Niagara Falls, we arrived late last night in Louisville, Kentucky, visiting the awesome house of Janice and her husband Andy in a cool old Victorian neighborhood in this pretty city.

Janice is planning to take the afternoon off, and then maybe we'll go to the horse races at Churchill Downs or catch a minor league baseball game -- the famous Louisville Slugger bats are made here and the team shares the name.

It's great to see Janice and Andy again. We'll have pictures later.

Freda, they left Saturday heading for Colorado, aiming to make it there Monday.

Michelle, sorry to say that your Belmont exacta was a bust. Big Brown decided that three races in five weeks was too much, or maybe that darn jockey just wouldn't let him do his thing, or maybe ...

Hi Janice, Hi Judy, Hi Freda, Sorry I missed Mark and Michelle in Kentucky. As far as as the Belmont,I think Big Brown just needed some more rest time from his injury because it couldn't have been the jockey's fault. (My wife Natalie made me say that-she's Kent's second cousin)... Mark and Michelle-if you get to Denver and need restaurant or insider tips, give a ring to Nat's brother, Dan DesOrmeaux. I don't have his phone# on me but he's got a display ad in the Denver real estate yellow pages. Remax agent I think...Sandyman

Sandy, I don't blame Kent but it was odd to pull him up like that. I think he might of felt something and didn't want a Barbaro or Eight Belles. After it was over he couldn't say that, it would be a public relations nightmare. But he felt like he needed to protect that horse from something. Hopefully, Big Brown will rest up and fight it out against Curlin in the Breeders Cup. His connections will be happy and his stud fees will be back up.

Hi Janice-I think you got it right-AP reported that Big Brown's trainer said Kent pulled back for whatever reason. Your theory makes good sense. ...Hi Freda, I am inspired to hit the court after watching the French Open. I'll give a call when I get back from Lafayette, Sandy

Big Brown's trainer is a imbecile, babe.
