He's just old and red and sweaty

It's a chilly but very pretty day today, and it's my last afternoon before a week of chemo, so I decided to try to stretch out my normal mile-long run and go a bit longer. But I ran out of gas and had to walk the last few blocks back to the house.

So I'm staggering along the sidewalk, trying to catch my breath, when a little girl, about 3 or 4, emerges from behind a gate followed by her mother. The girl looks at me then turns around and says something I can't hear to her mom. I see the woman look at me and then back down at the daughter and, over the Talking Heads blaring in my earbuds, I hear her say, "No honey, he's not weird."

I was out of earshot before she finished the explanation.

I figure I had better reveal myself from the shadows and fess up that I've been...."reading the blog!" Mark it was your movies reviews that lured me to the electronic page. Your scope of movie viewing, most mirrors mine. You have even seen movies I can't get Val to go see. I've been on a short movie hiatus for the past weekend, I'm not interested in the Golden Compass. The weird talking animal animation really turned me off in the previews. Good luck with the chemo and give me more movies.

red and sweaty maybe, but old? you young whippersnapper.

I just saw the golden compass, and the imaginative fantasy reminded me of the fairy tales I used to read as a child, so I liked it.

That's hilarious. I'm with the kid. And I can say that because you've always been the cool one compared to me.

Good luck with chemo this week, Mark. Maybe we can get some pho and cream puffs some day soon, whenever you're feeling up to it.

Ha ha, what is that saying, "from the mouths of babes?"

Only kidding Aunt Rita -you know where I live!

Mark, good luck this week - hang in there and soon you will have one more treatment behind you. I will try to e-mail you some cyber entertainment.
