A Fred Retrospective

I figure only the Driftwooders among M&M readers will appreciate this, but since that's about half the readership, I'm going for it. Here then, is my Fred photo retrospective.

Fred! Val and I are all nostalgic now. Val notes Laurie Sue is in the background of pix number one.

Thanks to all of my fans, to RayRay and Blake incarcerated. This is for the Driftwood. Now back to rehab.

Seriously though, I miss you all and the old days, but simply knowing you're there makes me feel warm. (is this the Big Chill?) You're the best.
My four kids, Marcelle, 18, Camille, 19, Betsy, 13 and George, 10, me and Michelle (my wife, if you didn't know) feel immensely rich. I hope you'll meet them.

Hey Fred, there is a Fred Reinecke in Louisville, KY. I saw his name a few years ago as someone who was applying to take the bar exam. It seemed far fetched that you had plans to move to Louisville, but I called information, got a phone number and confirmed that the Louisville Fred Reinecke is an imposter. Seemed like a nice guy and didn't seem to mind being interupted by a stranger asking personal questions but...

What a treat to find pictures of Fred & me on the blog. I recently saw the "Big Chill" on AMC (which my step mother used to call the Ancient Movie Channel) thinking those actors looked so young. Has it really been long enough for us to create the next generation of Driftwooders/journalist/anarchist? Good work Fred. Your daughter looks great. Did you teach your children the art of having other people buy their hamburgers, crashing bars and dancing on their toes? Or did you leave that for your grand-children? Much love to all.

Laurie, I owe you about a dozen Bud's Broilers and a lifetime of grattitude. You were always s--weet. I still think about hanging with you.

By now I know most of the old Driftwooders -- Fred may be the only main character I haven't met. But judging from this outpouring, not to mention the cool old photos, he seems like a guy to know.

I hope I'll get the pleasure on our road trip later this year.
